Yosemite National Park officials have reported the disappearance of Bay Area resident Hayden Klemenok during a hiking trip. Hayden Klemenok was last seen on the Upper Chilnualna Falls trail on Sunday, July 2. Park officials are urging hikers to contact the Yosemite Park dispatch if they have any information or sightings of him.
Authorities believe that Hayden Klemenok entered Chilnualna Creek around 2:00 pm local time, but the circumstances surrounding his disappearance remain unknown. The search efforts have not indicated any signs of foul play, and it is believed that he may have been hiking off-trail near a waterfall at some point.
Hayden Klemenok was backpacking with a small group in Yosemite National Park when he went off trail, and his companions lost sight of him. He was last seen wearing a brimmed hat, white sunglasses, a red T-shirt, blue swimming trunks, and white Adidas shoes.
Despite extensive search efforts, no traces of Hayden Klemenok have been found yet. Yosemite National Park officials are seeking assistance from the public, particularly from anyone who may have been hiking off-trail in the area of Upper Chilnualna Falls.

In response to his disappearance, Klemenok’s family has started a fundraiser to support the search efforts. The fundraiser has already exceeded its initial goal of $20,000, reaching $21,672 as of July 5. The family expresses gratitude for the efforts of law enforcement, national park rangers, and the Yosemite Search and Rescue Team, but the situation remains distressing as his whereabouts are still unknown.

Hayden Klemenok is originally from the Bay Area and attended Santa Rosa Junior College before transferring to SDSU, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in 2023. He worked as a financial analyst at PorchLight Realty after graduation and was skilled in financial planning and cash flow analysis. Klemenok led an active lifestyle, participating in various sports such as hiking, weightlifting, MMA, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. His Instagram profile indicated his blue belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and his participation in grappling tournaments at Victory MMA and Fitness in San Diego.
