Kenzie Fuller, Alberta – The sudden passing of Kenzie Fuller has cast a shadow of grief over the hearts of many. Kenzie, whose death was confirmed on Monday, September 11, 2023, has left behind a community scarred by the shock of her untimely departure. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her during her life.
Alex Jon Wuensch, a friend of Kenzie, expressed his heartfelt condolences, saying, “RIP Kenzie Fuller. Still processing and honestly still in shock by the news of your passing. We had so much fun growing up together watching the two legends play ball every weekend. It was always a pleasure seeing you and catching up, may you rest in peace.”
Kenzie Fuller was known as a dedicated worker at The Dugout 31 and was a student at Western Technical College. Hailing from Onalaska, Wisconsin, she made her home in La Crosse, Wisconsin, where she endeared herself to those who crossed her path with her infectious fun-loving spirit and her perpetual smile.
McKenzie was born on May 27, 1992, in La Crosse, Wisconsin, and was the cherished daughter of Rick Fuller and Kacey McSorley. She was a loving daughter, sister, granddaughter, aunt, niece, girlfriend, and friend. Her compassion extended even to her four-legged companions, as she was a devoted mom to her dogs and cat.
McKenzie possessed a radiant spark that could brighten the darkest of rooms, with her infectious smile and laughter capable of lifting anyone’s spirits. Her kindness and generosity touched the lives of all those fortunate enough to know her. She graduated from Onalaska High School in 2010, where she not only excelled academically but also formed lasting friendships with her classmates and teammates on the softball field.
After high school, McKenzie embarked on a career at Dahl Automotive, where her warm and friendly nature led to the formation of even more enduring friendships. Later, she joined her father in managing Dugout 47, their shared venture, where she continued to make a positive impact on everyone she encountered.
McKenzie’s heart belonged to the Milwaukee Brewers, and she cherished watching her favorite baseball team play. However, her greatest joy came from spending time with her loved ones. Softball held a special place in her heart, not just for the sport itself but for the camaraderie and connections it forged.
McKenzie’s radiant personality and boundless love will be sorely missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts and cherished recollections of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She left an indelible mark on the lives she touched.
McKenzie is survived by her loving significant other, Andy Hemker, of Holmen; her father, Rick Fuller (Alissa), of La Crosse; her mother, Kacey (Jason) McSorley, of Onalaska; her step-mother, Brooke (Shane) Mohn, of Cataract; her sister, Chesny Fuller, of La Crosse; her brother, Brody McSorley (Emma), of Onalaska; paternal grandparents, Rita and Gary Fuller, of Prairie du Chien; Nans Linda (Steve) Palzkill; her caring aunts and uncles, Jody (Don) Novey, Kim Corpian (Bill), and Jackie (John) Skaife.
McKenzie was preceded in death by James St Jacque (Papa Jim), Grandpa Phil Corpian, Grandma Cathy Corpian, and her best friend and little brother, Tyler Wood.
Visitations will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2023 from 3-7 p.m. and Friday, September 15, 2023 from 9 to 11 a.m. at The Gathering Place, 133 Mason St., Onalaska WI. A celebration of McKenzie’s life will also be held on Friday, September 15, 2023, from 11 a.m. at The Gathering Place with burial immediately following at Woodlawn North Cemetery in La Crosse.
