Fajr Vallejos had just picked up her children from her parent’s House and was on her way home when she became the victim of a drive-by shooting.
Detectives from the Homicide Branch of the Metropolitan Police Department are looking into a homicide that happened on December 2, 2022, in the Southeast 1700 block of W Street.
Members of the Seventh District arrived at the specified location for the shooting report at around 8:20. When the team arrived, they discovered an adult female victim suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound inside a car.
The victim was left at the scene until being taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner after D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services arrived and discovered no signs of life.
Fajr Vallejos Found Shot To Death: What Happened?
According to Police, Fajr Vallejos, 30, was discovered in a car in the 1700 block of W Street S.E. at around 8:20 pm. Her family claimed that she lived only a few blocks away.

A law enforcement source told News4 that after Fajr was discovered shot to death in a car with her uninjured children on Friday night in Anacostia, the hunt for the shooter is still ongoing.

Family members told News4 that Vallejos’ children, ages 8 and 5, were in the backseat and saw her murder.
Fajr Vallejos Children Witnessed Her Murder
Family members claimed that the eight and 5-year-old Vallejos kids were in the car and saw their parents being killed.
The fact that their kids were with her, according to Fajr’s husband, Jose Issac Vallejos, made things worse. He disclosed that their son essentially claimed he saw fireworks and then witnessed his mother’s passing.
According to family members, Vallejos had just picked up her children from her parent’s House and was on her way home when she became the victim of a drive-by shooting. She was shot, and she had a car accident.

The victim’s lifelong friend Alya Ahmed claimed that her children were unharmed was the only solace. Vallejos, according to Ahmed, was compassionate, loving, giving, diligent, and contagious with a smile.
After the shooting, a black sedan with tinted windows was driving away from the block.
Fajr Vallejos Murder Suspect
After a woman was declared dead following a shooting in Southeast D.C. on Friday night, Police opened a homicide investigation.
Investigators were called to the 1700 block of W Street Southeast around 8:15 pm due to a report of a shooting. Officers arrived on the scene and discovered a Vallejos with a gunshot wound who was not breathing. She was declared dead at the scene and taken to a nearby hospital.
There is currently no suspect lookout, according to the Police, and no one has been taken into custody. The situation is still being looked into.
Police are searching for a suspect and are offering a $25,000 reward. Her bereaved family members have a message for the public as that investigation continues.
