On Saturday night, a mass shooting occurred in Dadeville, Alabama, where Phil Dowdell, a high school football player committed to Jacksonville State, was among the four victims who died.
Jacksonville State head coach, Rich Rodriguez, has released a statement expressing his condolences for Dowdell’s family and the tragic loss of such a promising young athlete.
Along with four victims who died on the spot, 28 others were injured; they have been on medical attention and maybe will recover soon.

According to reports, when the shooting occurred, Phil Dowdell attended a Sweet 16 birthday party for his sister, Alexis, at a dance studio in Dadeville, Alabama.
The personal information regarding his sibling has not been shared in public. Alexis’ family member has been protecting her from media and sources.
People were unknown of the shooting and were not following what happened to everyone at the party.

Meet Phil Dowdell Grandmother, Annette Allen
Dowdell’s grandmother is the one who has been sharing information regarding the case; Annette Allen revealed that they were at a birthday party before everyone was shot.
Allen mentioned that Dowdell’s mother was also the one who was injured during the incident. “Everybody’s grieving,” Allen said.
Allen said she had close bonding with his grandson; they often spent time together whenever Phil was free from his game or training. It was reported that the incident occurred at around 10:30 pm on Saturday.
Although the police have not yet disclosed any information about a suspect in the shooting that took the life of Phil and three others, they have reassured the community that there is no cause for alarm or worry about any particular person at this time.
