American actress and television personality Whoopi Goldberg has addressed rumors about her s*xuality following comments made by actress Raven-Symone during an episode of The Best Podcast Ever with Raven and Miranda. Raven-Symone had playfully mentioned on the podcast that Goldberg gave off “lesbian vibes” during their time together on ABC’s talk show The View. “Honestly, when I was around you, I loved you so much, like I just wanted to be up underneath the t—- the whole time. But that’s also because you just kind of gave me lesbian vibes! You give me l*sbian vibes, you give me stud vibes.”

Goldberg, 67, explained that women have frequently asked her about her s*xuality throughout her life.
“Women have been asking me this for as long as I’ve been around. I am not a l*sbian. But I know lots of them, and I’ve played them on television. But I have always had l*sbian friends because they’re just my friends.”
“I’m not gonna k*ss you, but I’ll k*ss you over here, I’ll do this but I’m not going to do this… And they’re like, ‘OK!’”
She clarified that while she is not a lesbian, she has had lesbian friends and has portrayed lesbian characters on television. She emphasized that her friendships with lesbian individuals are just that—friendships—and she appreciates their company.
Discussing personal boundaries, Goldberg mentioned that she sets clear limits with her friends and humorously stated, “I’m not gonna kiss you, but I’ll kiss you over here, I’ll do this but I’m not going to do this… And they’re like, ‘OK!’”
Goldberg’s marital history has also been a topic of interest. She has been married three times. Her first marriage was in 1973 to drug counselor Alvin Martin, with whom she had a daughter named Alexandrea. After divorcing in 1979, she married cinematographer David Claessen in 1986, but their marriage lasted only two years.
