They divorced shortly after in 1946 but remained friends until Richard died in 1960.
Angela married Peter Shaw in 1949, with whom she remained together for 54 years until his demise in 2003.
Peter was also her work partner. She co-owned Corymore Productions with him and assumed ownership of her series Murder, She Wrote and was its Executive producer during the final four seasons.

Dame Angela Brigid Lansbury was born to an upper-middle-class family in London, England, on October 16, 1925.
She was the daughter of English politician Edgar Lansbury and Belfast-born Irish Actress Moyna Macgill (born Charlotte Lillian McIldowie).
Her Father, Edgar, was a wealthy English timber merchant and politician. He was a member of the Communist Party of Great Britain and the mayor of the Metropolitan Borough of Poplar.
Her mother, Moyna, regularly appeared on stage in London’s West End and several films.
Likewise, Angela’s paternal grandfather was George Lansbury, the Labour Party Leader. She said she felt “awed” by George and considered him “a giant in her youth.”

Angela had an older half-sister, Isolde Denham, who was born from Moyna’s previous marriage to Reginald Denham.
