The nineties TV star, who has been embroiled in a scandal involving the death of a man in his pool, appeared on This Morning on Thursday (3 August) and left viewers stunned by his erratic behavior.

He slurred his words, interrupted the hosts, and made jokes about his legal troubles. On top of that, he claimed he did not know who the hosts were – Josie Gibson and Craig Doyle.
When Michael made a hilarious outburst and threatened to stop the show during a tumultuous appearance, the two had their hands full.
Since Holly Willoughby’s longtime co-star Phillip Schofield was fired earlier this year, the two have been filling in for her while she is away for the summer.
Josie and Craig had to cut to the commercial break as a laughing Michael said, “I assumed it was Alison and the other person; who are you two?!”
“Who are they?” All of the cameramen’s names are familiar to me, but I don’t know you two,” Barrymore went on.
Michael subsequently imitated Craig’s Irish accent, and Josie managed to snap it, saying, “It’s my turn now!”
Michael was more composed after the break but insisted that he had never met Craig. He further asserted that the entire purpose of his humorous rants was to amuse the audience.

Michael’s antics astounded viewers, who reacted furiously on Twitter, with one user writing: “This is agonizing. Why is Barrymore treating Craig, Josie, and the show as a whole in such an offensive manner?”
Others said, “Hope Josie and Craig are getting a bonus for this discomfort.”

Many other audiences took to social media to express their shock and dismay at Barrymore’s interview, calling it a “car crash,” a “disgrace,” and a “disaster.”
Some speculated that he was drunk or on drugs, while others felt sorry for him and hoped he would get help.
Barrymore did not address the backlash but posted a video on TikTok thanking This Morning for having him and showing him chatting with production staff and other guests.
He said he had a “wonderful time” and that he was looking forward to his play. He also asked his followers to “be kind” and “stay positive.”
