As they deal with this loss, his family, friends, and the community will find solace in remembering the precious life the jockey led.

He spent several years traveling back and forth between hemispheres. He did spend the winters of 1998 and 1999 in Britain, but he didn’t like it there since it was too cold.

He developed a strong partnership with Dee Pee Tee Cee while working with Mick Easterby, winning eight races aboard him. On Hasta La Vista, another reliable Easterby mount, he scored four victories.

One of Terry’s final rides, Dee Pee Tee Cee, took place at Yarmouth on October 16, 2004. At the end of that season, he retired at 54 but kept working for Easterby as a traveling head groom.

In January 2010, Terry made his final departure from Great Britain and flew back to his native Australia to be with his children and look for a job in racing.
