According to TMZ Sports, which first broke the story, Owens was playing basketball in the Calabasas area when he got into a verbal altercation with another player.
The argument continued after the game, and the man got into his car and intentionally struck Owens’ knee with his vehicle.
Owens did not require medical attention at the scene but filed a police report for assault with a deadly weapon.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed to USA Today Sports that they are investigating the incident as a deliberate act, not an accident.
No arrests have been made as of Tuesday afternoon. This is not the first time that Owens has been involved in a physical confrontation in recent months.

In November 2022, Owens was caught on video punching a man in a CVS parking lot in Inglewood, California.
Owens claimed he acted in self-defense after the man harassed him and a fan inside the store and followed him outside.
He said the man swung at him first, and he felt obligated to prevent him from becoming more violent.
Owens, who played 15 seasons in the NFL for five different teams, is widely regarded as one of the best receivers of all time.
