Stella’s life journey took her to various states, including Maryland, Iowa, Washington, and North Carolina. At the time of her passing, she was a student at Lake Norman High School in Mooresville. Stella’s warm and kind-hearted nature endeared her to her peers and made her a beloved friend.

Living life to the fullest was Stella’s mantra. She possessed a talent for cooking and had a passion for art and creativity. Drawing and painting were among her favorite pastimes, and she aspired to pursue a career as an Interior Designer or Architect. Stella found joy in staying active and had a deep love for music. The outdoors brought her immense happiness, whether she was swimming, biking, or enjoying the lake with her closest friends. Creating lasting memories with loved ones through games, movies, and quality time together was of utmost importance to Stella.

Cynthia Miner pour tribute by sharing,

“This is the reason why you shouldn’t buy your teenage son or daughter a super nice car when they are 16 years old to ride around in with their friends. Many don’t have the maturity yet to drive a car responsibly. How many high schools have a crashed car out front warning kids not to drink and drive or speed behind the wheel. Yet every year there will be some kid(s) who dies before their high school graduation due to their reckless behavior. So sad. 😢”

David Whisenant WBTV shared Stella Grace Bright’s death news:

“On Saturday, September 09, at approximately 3:20 a.m., the NC State Highway Patrol responded to and investigated a fatal collision in Iredell County on Brawley School Road near Mansfield Loop. A 2014 Porsche 911 was traveling south on Brawley School Road, drove off the right side of the road, struck a tree, and then collided with a rock landscaping wall.

The driver of the Porsche, Stella Grace Bright, 16, of Mooresville, succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Two juvenile passengers in the vehicle were transported to local hospitals with injuries. The driver and front passenger were restrained by a seatbelt. One of the juveniles was sitting in the back area of the car, not designed for passengers, and unrestrained.

During the on-scene investigation, Brawley School Road was closed in the area for three hours. The initial investigation indicates excessive speed to be the contributing circumstance in the collision.”

Stella’s presence was truly radiant, brightening every room she entered. Her infectious smile, sense of humor, and warm heart left an indelible mark on everyone she met. Stella had a remarkable ability to connect with others, spreading kindness and grace wherever she went. Her soul was unique, and her legacy of love and compassion will be cherished forever.

Stella is survived by her twin sister, Olivia, and her loving parents, Chris and Teresa. She is also survived by her grandparents: William H. Schur, Linda J. Schur, Aldene Loe, Dorine K. Bright, Alton L. Loe, as well as her aunts, uncles, and extended family.
