Paramedics attempted to save the well-known drag racer as soon as the accident occurred, but he was not present.
The racer participated in the “top fuel dragsters” category at Willowbank’s New Year Nitro drag racing competition.

Sam Fenech Killed In Willowbank Raceway
Sam, a drag racer, was competing in a race west of Brisbane, Willowbank Raceway, when he was involved in the terrible accident that ultimately claimed his life.
According to sources, Sam appeared to lose control of his car, which flipped over the safety barriers, evident in the pictures that went viral after the accident.

According to sources, QLD Police is looking into the accident, and the forensic crash unit is collaborating with Workplace Health and Safety to look into it. There won’t be any more public comments.
