Punjab Government announces ‘Holiday’ on 17 September 2022

The Punjab Government has declared Saturday, ’17 September 2022′ as a public holiday in Lahore and Rawalpindi. This holiday will be commemorated in all government departments as well as educational institutes on account of “979th Annual Urs Mubarak of Hazrat Data Gunj Baksh (RA) in Lahore” and due to “Chelum Procession” in Rawalpindi.

On Saturday, September 17, 2022, all public and private sector educational institutions including schools, colleges and universities located in the municipal limits of Tehsil Rawalpindi and District Lahore will remain closed.

Official notification of public holiday has been issued on the orders of Additional Chief Secretary of S&GAD in Lahore and Deputy Commissioner in Rawalpindi.
