The Zinni family is deeply saddened to announce the untimely passing of Gregory Paul Zinni at the age of 38, a loss felt with profound regret. Gregory left this world on Friday, August 25, 2023, surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Born on January 4, 1985, in Youngstown, Ohio, Gregory was the son of the late Dr. Gregory S. Zinni, MD, and Catherine J. (Harlor) Zinni. He was known for his charismatic personality and unwavering commitment to life’s simple pleasures, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him.

Gregory was affectionately known as the “movie guru” among his loved ones, always ready with a concise and witty movie reference to brighten any situation. His earliest memories revolved around playing baseball for Mill Creek under the guidance of his father and uncle Kenny, setting the foundation for his lifelong passion for sports and outdoor activities.

Throughout adulthood, Gregory remained active and adventurous, enjoying activities like skating, golfing, snowboarding, skydiving, scuba diving, and backyard games. He was a dedicated supporter of the Milwaukee Brewers, Cleveland Browns, and Ohio State Buckeyes.

Gregory Zinni’s obituary and funeral details have been released by his family. Private funeral services, officiated by Father Tony Massad, took place on September 1, 2023, at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home in Boardman.

Gregory leaves behind cherished memories in the hearts of his three sisters: Elizabeth Zinni of Austintown, Carly Zinni, and Natalie Zinni of Youngstown, and his brother Grayson Zinni of Cortland. He also leaves behind nieces Adriana and Viviana Daff and Evelyn Klimis, as well as his uncle Jeffrey C. Zinni of Youngstown, aunt Jennifer Saadey of Youngstown, uncle Paul David Harlor of New Jersey, and aunt Judi Hill of Columbus. Gregory is also survived by many cousins, relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his loyal companion, Rufio, and his parents, Dr. Gregory S. Zinni, MD, and Catherine J. Zinni. Additionally, he was predeceased by his grandparents, Paul and Helen Harlor, Chester and Loretta Zinni, and his uncles, Kenneth Zinni, Chester Zinni, and Michael (Elizabeth) Harlor.
