NASHUA, NH – Authorities have identified the victims of a devastating collision involving a pickup truck and a motorcycle in Nashua, New Hampshire on Sunday. Anthony “Tony” Clayton, 68, of Pepperell, and Sayira Muriel, 51, of Nashua lost their lives in the tragic accident that occurred on Daniel Webster Highway.

Eye-witnesses recounted the horrifying scene, with one resident describing the collision site as an area where drivers frequently exceed speed limits. Tragically, following the collision, one of the victims was pulled beneath the truck while the motorcycle was dragged. Swift action by responders managed to remove the motorcycle from the vehicle, resulting in the second victim being thrown.

He passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 17th, 2023, at the age of 68, in Nashua, New Hampshire. Anthony was more than a name; he was a beacon of love and respect, leaving an undeniable legacy.

Born on April 5th, 1955, in Jasper, Alabama, to the late Jesse Perry Jr. and the late Joyce Onita Clayton Tyree, Anthony’s journey was one of warmth, love, and dedication to family. Graduating from Lowell High School, he briefly served in the U.S. Army and later found his calling at D&D Asphalt Paving, Inc. in Lowell, MA, after previously working at Pavex Inc. in Dracut, MA.

Anthony’s life was a blend of passions—fishing, golfing, scuba diving, boxing, working out, and riding his motorcycle. He cherished moments with his grand dog, Famous, but above all, he treasured time with family and friends.

He is survived by an extensive family, leaving behind his children Cathlyn Taylor-Palo and her husband Seth, Tricia Menzies, Latisha Childs and her husband Eugene, Latoya Rivera and her husband Gilceasar, Valentina Wolterding, Jessica Kungulus and her husband Allan Ndichu, Natisha Pinero and her husband Emanuel, Christina Muldoon, Valarie Clayton, and Jarid Prescott. Anthony was also a proud grandfather and great-grandfather, adored by many nieces and nephews.

His memory lives on through his surviving sisters, Julia Mae Hagler, Tonya Earline Tyree, and Robin Denise Tyree. He also honored the memory of his late son, Shaland Allison (1976-2018) and sister, Anita Marie Clayton (1958-2004).

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, September 25th, from 9-10 am at CCF Ministries, 105 Princeton Blvd., Lowell, MA 01852, followed by a funeral service. His final resting place will be at Westlawn II Cemetery, Lowell, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to DDPO: Drunk Driving Prevention Organization. The community gathers to celebrate the life of a remarkable man—Anthony Clayton—a pillar of love and strength in Pepperell, MA, and beyond.
