She said that Karlie slept next to her and was still there when she woke up around 5:30 a.m. However, when she checked on her again around 7:30 a.m., Karlie was gone.

A neighbor, Eddy, reported seeing Karlie walking away from her home around 6 a.m., holding a piece of paper in her hand.
He said that he thought it was strange that she was not wearing any warm clothing on the chilly morning.
He said that he later learned from Melissa that Karlie was missing and tried to follow her on his motorcycle, but could not find her.
No other witnesses have come forward to confirm seeing Karlie that day or since then.

The witness said that he recognized Karlie from the news and that she was picked up by a vehicle from Highway 6 and taken to Tonopah.
The authorities have located the vehicle and are trying to verify the witness’s account. However, they have not confirmed whether Karlie was indeed in Tonopah or whether she is still alive.

Another lead came from social media, where some users claimed to have spotted Karlie in TikTok videos featuring a girl who looked like her.
However, the authorities have ruled out this possibility after contacting the girl in the videos and confirming that she was not Karlie.
