Renowned actor Jon Hamm is set to return to the Star Wars universe by reprising the role of the beloved character Boba Fett in the new anthology audiobook, “From a Certain Point of View: Return of the Jedi.” According to USA Today, Hamm will lend his voice to the character in a short story titled “Reputation,” one of the 40 stories included in the audiobook. Author Tara Sim shared her excitement about Hamm’s involvement, describing it as an honor to have an actor of his caliber bring her words to life.

“I wanted to be in Boba’s head while he fulfills his contract with Jabba, and in the moments right before the Sarlacc, which meant that Han was the natural through line. It provided a really interesting backdrop to explore Boba’s pride in himself and his work, even though he’s just another one of Jabba’s hired hands – and could end up like Han if he’s not careful.”
“Having an actor of his caliber read words that I wrote and bring that version of Boba to life is surreal, but also such an honor,” Sim said of Hamm.

In the audiobook, Boba Fett’s character will be explored despite being a supporting figure. His importance to the storyline and his well-regarded character development within the franchise have led to this opportunity. Sim mentioned that the story provided a backdrop to delve into Boba Fett’s pride in his work while being just another hired hand for Jabba the Hutt.
The star-studded voice cast for the audiobook includes other notable actors such as Adam Scott, Nika Futterman, Daniel Davis, January LaVoy, and more.
While Hamm will reprise the role in the audiobook, it remains uncertain if the character will return to the screen. Boba Fett previously received his own miniseries titled “The Book of Boba Fett.” However, Lucasfilm has not confirmed a renewal for the show’s second season. Actor Temuera Morrison, who portrays Boba Fett in the series, recently visited Lucasfilm studios to discuss the character’s future in the franchise.
Morrison hinted at ongoing discussions during a podcast appearance, suggesting that there might be future plans for the character. Speculation also surrounds Boba Fett’s potential appearance in the upcoming season of “The Mandalorian.” While no official updates have been provided, industry sources have suggested that the character could make an appearance in the show’s next season.
