Is Jason Day Sick Now? Illness And Health Update [curent-year]

Although there is not much available about Jason Day health update as of 2023, Golf Channel reported in January 2022 that Jason Day was healthy again and looked forward to improving his game following the worst year of his career.

“When you struggle with an injury, it goes into your game. I just want to improve my game since my body feels good,” added Day.

However, Jason Day withdrew from the 2022 Wyndham Championship. The PGA Tour later tweeted that his withdrawal was due to illness. But they didn’t specify the illness.

Jason Day has withdrawn from several different events because of his health issues.

Jason Day sought medical attention during his quarterfinal loss to Scottie Scheffler on the 25 March game in the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play.

There was much concern about his health. However, he reportedly sought medical consultation for allergies.

Jason Day Was Diagnosed With Positional Vertigo

Jason Day stumbled and ultimately collapsed on the 9th hole during the second round of the 2015 U.S. Open at Chambers Bay.

People were shocked to see one of the finest active players collapse like that. Later, the Australian golfer’s agent, Bud Martin, revealed that Jason Day was diagnosed with Benign Positional Vertigo.

“He is resting peacefully after receiving treatment from doctors Robert Stoecker and Charles Souliere. Day hopes to compete this weekend in the U.S. Open final rounds as his condition is closely monitored,” added Martin.

But the condition impacted Jason again during Round 3. “I felt nauseous all day,” Jason admitted at that time. He also said it was one of the worse cases. His goal was to go through the day and see how it went.

Day also withdrew from several events due to vertigo before his BPPV diagnosis.

What Is Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV)

The Mayo Clinic reports that benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) is often triggered by “specific changes in one’s head posture.”

The condition isn’t necessarily dangerous except for the potential for harm during falls.

Jason Day underwent a procedure to help him with his condition. Unfortunately, it didn’t work.

Jason mentioned that he completed MRIs, blood tests, and sleep studies. All the tests were negative and couldn’t determine whether a person had the illness.

However, Mayo Clinic states that MRIs could be performed to rule out other causes of vertigo.
