Benton, KY – The community is mourning the loss of Ian Timpe, a dedicated correctional sergeant at Kentucky State Penitentiary in Benton, Kentucky. Known to many as Ian Michael Allan Timpe, he passed away on the morning of Friday, September 15, 2023, at the young age of 23. This is going to short, just like the life of my son!23 years ago a wonderful baby boy was born, his name was Ian Michael Allan Timpe. It’s never easy loosing a friend and even harder loosing a good friend like Ian Timpe. We got the news this morning that our good friend and coworker passed away this morning and I don’t think KSP will ever be the same without you. You definitely made each day no matter how crappy fun to be there. I had the honor of having you on my walk in 6 cellhouse for a few months and if you knew timpe he’d always have a snack, coffee, or an energy drink in his hand. In May 2022, he embarked on his career at Kentucky State Penitentiary as a Correctional Officer, a role he embraced with dedication and enthusiasm.
