Exciting progress is being made on Everton’s new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock, and stunning aerial footage has recently emerged, giving fans a glimpse of what’s to come. The club confirmed that the development is on schedule, reaffirming their plans to move away from Goodison Park, a historic stadium that has witnessed more top-flight games than any other in England.
The footage, released by Everton Football Club, provides an up-close look at the current state of the North and East stands, as well as a view of all four corners of the stadium. Additionally, viewers get an aerial perspective of the walk up to the ground from Sandhills train station, passing by the Tai Pan restaurant.
Colin Chong, the chief stadium development officer overseeing the project, recently addressed fans’ most burning question: the completion date. He assured everyone that there are no delays, and the project remains firmly on track. Although an exact moving-in date has not been publicly disclosed, the plan is for the keys to be handed over to Everton from Laing O’Rourke during the 2024/25 season. Following the completion of construction, the stadium will undergo testing and preparation for a series of test events, which are anticipated to take place in the final months of 2024.
The new stadium has already captured the attention of former Manchester United defender Gary Neville, who was left in awe upon seeing it for the first time. In a filmed scene aboard a ferry crossing the Merseyside, former Liverpool winger John Barnes pointed out Everton’s new ground to Neville, who was taken aback. Neville exclaimed, “Oh my God! Is that Everton’s new stadium?” He went on to express his belief that Everton will become a force to reckon with once they move into their impressive new home.
