Emma Modesta Coronel Aispuro is a former American teenage beauty queen born on July 2, 1989, near San Francisco, California, U.S.
Meanwhile, her parents, Blanca Estela Aispuro and Inés Coronel Barreras, raised her in the remote Durango village of La Angostura.
Being married to a Mexican, she is a dual citizen of the U.S. and Mexico.
However, her husband, El Chapo, was considered the most wanted drug dealer in Mexico, so her fate was inevitable.
Police arrested Emma and her husband for being involved in illegal activities. Thus, the court sentenced her to three years in prison.
Yet, after serving less than two years, Emma came out of prison officially in 2023.

Emma Coronel Aispuro became the topic of most concern for the public due to her husband El Chapo’s illegal activities.
Likewise, she always supported her husband, leading her to become a suspect for being a part of his criminal business.
Later, in 2019, the federal trial against El Chapo ended when the court sentenced him in prison.

Her arrest charges included conspiracy to unlawfully import and distribute illegal drugs, money laundering, and transacting business with a significant foreign narcotics trafficker.
Emma waived the indictment and pleaded guilty to felony criminal information in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
After that, Judge Rudolph Contreras of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia sentenced her to three years in prison on November 30, 2021.

According to her lawyer, Mariel Colon, Emma spent 22 hours per day in a small cell with nothing to do but read in Alexandria City Jail.
Later, the court reduced her prison sentence to 31 months, noting that she was a teenager when she married Guzman and admitted her guilt upon capture.
Then, Emma served her sentence in Federal Medical Center, Carswell, and finally came out of prison on September 13, 2023.

Emma Coronel Aispuro’s Personal Life: Husband and Children
Emma Coronel Aispuro was not interested in a love life unless she met her husband, Joaquin El Chapo Guzman.
The couple first met in the 2007 Coffee and Guava Festival beauty pageant in Canelas, Durango, Mexico.
He traveled from the U.S. to Mexico just to meet her. Surprisingly, on the same day, they reportedly agreed to marry.
Finally, on her 18th birthday, the couple tied the knot and officially announced their marriage.
Later, in the summer of 2011, Emma traveled to Lancaster, California, to give birth at Antelope Valley Hospital.

Thus, they welcomed their twin girls, Guadalupe and Maria Joaquina.
However, the children’s birth certificates did not include El Chapo’s name as a father because the U.S. Department of State offered a bounty of five million dollars for his capture.

Meanwhile, El Chapo is still serving his life sentence in a high-security prison.
