Bay Minette, Alabama – The tight-knit community of Bay Minette is grappling with the tragic loss of Chase Sharp, a 34-year-old resident, who lost his life in a devastating collision. On the morning of Monday, near the 29-mile marker on I-65, tragedy struck as the Ford Explorer he was driving collided with the rear of a Kenworth tractor-trailer, driven by a Frisco City man.
Chase, a beloved individual in the community, leaves behind his beautiful wife, Elizabeth Sharp, and their two precious children, aged 9 weeks and 12 years. The loss is profound, and the family is in need of support and prayers as they face the days ahead, learning to navigate a world without Chase by their side.

“I don’t know that I will ever have the right words to describe just how Great Chase Sharp was. He was definitely one of a kind and the life of the party. His smile would light up the world and he had a laugh that was contagious. You knew he was always just a phone call away if you needed anything. He will be missed by so many.Please keep his Beautiful Wife Elizabeth Sharp, his two precious kids(9 weeks old & 12 yrs old) and all his other family in your thoughts and prayers. Especially pray for them in the days to come as they learn to navigate this world without him.”

The crash occurred just after 6 a.m. when the tractor-trailer, disabled and partly in the roadway, became a point of impact for the Ford Explorer. Due to the height difference between trucks and passenger vehicles, underride crashes like this are particularly dangerous, often resulting in severe injuries or fatalities.
Chase J. Sharp, tragically not wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident, was pronounced dead at the scene. The circumstances of the collision have left the community in shock and mourning.
