The business jet took off from Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas at around 3:15 am, destined for French Valley Airport.
The incident happened at roughly 4:15 am, 85 miles (137 kilometers) south of Los Angeles, according to a statement from the Federal Aviation Administration.
At a press conference on Saturday, Eliott Simpson of the NTSB stated, “The pilot notified air traffic control that he was going to make a missed approach, which generally occurs when the pilot can’t see the runway.”
Likewise, in the same news briefing, Elliott, an aviation investigator for the National Transportation Safety Board, said the deceased passengers and pilot were all adults.
Abigail Tellez-Vargas, Riese Lenders, Manuel Vargas-Regalado, Lindsey Gleiche, Alma Razick, and Abraham Razick were eventually revealed to be the individuals.

Two married couples and 25-year-old Riese Lenders, the pilot, were the other onboard alongside Gleiche.
The couples were Ibrahem Razick, 46; his wife Alma, 51; Manuel Vargas-Regaldo, 32; and his wife Abigail Tellez-Vargas, 33.
The event on Tuesday, when a single-engine Cessna 172 crashed in the airport’s parking area shortly after takeoff, killing one of the four people on board, was the airport’s second fatality in less than a week.

After informing air traffic control that he could not see the landing strip due to heavy fog, the pilot of a tiny plane crashed 500 feet from a runway in California which six people onboard, including Lindsey.
Around 4.15 am on Saturday, a Cessna C550 Citation was attempting to land at the French Valley Airport halfway between Los Angeles and San Diego. Still, the pilot could not see the runway due to the fog.
The jet made an unsuccessful first attempt at landing, missed the runway by about 500 feet, crashed, and caught fire, killing everyone onboard.
