“Well Brian Sowers, I’m gonna miss seeing and hearing from you. Went through a lot together in our run at growing the sport of crappie fishing. You were so passionate about it.Here’s a little story for everyone. When I acquired Crappie Masters in 2012, the first thing I wanted to accomplish was bringing Brian Sowers on board. He just had “it” you know. Running these tournaments you wanted to put on a show and showcase the anglers. Brian Sowers was the best at it. He had the right voice, stage presence, knowledge, and added excitement.“We always kicked off the new season in Florida and we would always go down a week early and sometimes stay a week later. A man has to fish. So our first trip with Brian on board we went fishing in the the St. Johns River. At this time he had never caught a 2 pound crappie. First day out, first hour, BOOM, he sticks this 2.84 pound crappie. You would have thought I had a kid in the boat with me. He was so excited he was shaking.“So long my good friend. You will be missed by tens of thousands. You were great for the sport and will never be forgotten. Wish we could have hit the water one more time.”
