The Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) has increased the quarterly assistance for beneficiaries of the Benazir Kafalat Program 2023 from Rs. 7,000 to Rs. 8,500, according to a BISP spokesperson.

The program has disbursed the January-March installment to its nine million beneficiaries, with the government allocating over Rs83 billion for the quarter. The Benazir Education Stipend is also being released quarterly, with children of BISP beneficiaries eligible for stipends if they maintain attendance of more than 70 percent.

Beneficiaries in Islamabad, Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan can collect their payments from Habib Bank ATMs or designated centers, while those in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit Baltistan must go to Bank Al Falah.

Eligibility for the program can be checked by sending a CNIC number in an SMS to 8171. The program was previously known as the Ehsaas Kafalat Program and renamed the Benazir Kafalat Program after Imran Khan’s government was ousted through a no-confidence motion.
