His coaching journey spanned several sports, including guiding the Lady Eagles to two league titles during his tenure as the girls’ basketball coach in the late 1980s. Byars’ dedication extended to coaching both varsity and younger-level teams, with notable success in the boys’ basketball program, securing consecutive league titles in 1999 and 2001.
