After earning a place in Phi Beta Kappa following his studies at Florida State University, he pursued his passion and earned a master’s degree from the prestigious Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois.
Diaz embarked on his illustrious career in the early 1970s at WPLG-TV in Miami. Later, he made his mark in New York, working at WCBS-TV from the mid-1970s to the early 1990s. During his tenure at WCBS, he earned a staggering 25 regional Emmy Awards, a testament to his dedication and excellence in investigative journalism.
Throughout his storied career, Diaz was the recipient of an impressive 48 Emmy Awards. He served as the Consumer Investigative Reporter on ABC’s 20/20 from 1995 to 2003, where his contributions were widely recognized.
