Ariana Sutton is a Massachusetts resident and the wife of a police officer in the same community, Stephen “Tyler” Sutton.

The couple had three children together who are now without a mother. Melody Ki, 4, and the newborn twins Everly Irene and Rowan Stephen Sutton are the children she leaves behind.  

According to her obituary, Ariana worked at Starline Academy for the Performing Arts in Stoughton for five years before co-owning it with her sister for the previous eight years.

Additionally, she belonged to the Greater Brockton Dance Teachers Association. Ariana excelled at enlightening kids about the joys of dance.

The entire Massachusetts community and the Sutton family are devasted by the news of her suicide following mental health issues.

Ariana Sutton, a police officer’s wife, took her own life just nine days after giving birth to twins, leaving him inconsolable after a long struggle with postpartum depression. 

Less than two weeks after the twins were brought into this world, the mother-of-three committed suicide at home due to an ‘immense’ burden on her mental health.

The 36-year-old had three children with Easton police officer Tyler, whose “greatest joy was spending time with her family,” according to her obituary.

Jason Sutton, her spouse’s brother, praised Ariana for being a “very gentle, kind human being.” He said about the twins, “Ariana wanted these kids so badly.”

Her twins are currently receiving care in the neonatal intensive care unit at Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Newton, where they will probably stay through the end of the month.

The births of Everly Irene and Rowan Stephen “brought unforeseen challenges” for the “vibrant and devoted mother,” which “put an immense strain on Ariana’s mental health,” according to a GoFundMe page created on behalf of the family.

A message on the page stated, “Despite her obstinate efforts to seek help, the burden of postpartum depression became too much to bear.”

Ariana Sutton Family Hoping To Raise Awareness Of Postpartum Depression

Ariana’s family is trying to share their experience to spread the word about postpartum depression.

Postpartum depression, also called Postnatal depression, is a type of sadness or depression that affects mothers after giving birth. It is often brought on by hormonal changes, psychological adjustment to motherhood, and exhaustion.

Catherine Sutton, Ariana’s sister-in-law, is working to reduce the stigma surrounding other mothers experiencing mental health issues.

She said to Enterprise News: “Asking for support is crucial. It’s worth sharing our story if it helps another family avoid what we’re going through today.”

The fundraiser page also stated that we could work to keep future families from going through the same tragedies by creating a supportive community.

Between seven and twenty percent of moms, who can be severely disabled, suffer from postpartum depression, according to doctors.

However, many cases go unreported due to the shame associated with it; as a result, the true prevalence is still unknown.

Only a few people have a more severe form of depression which lasts longer, but symptoms normally start during the first 2-3 days after birth and may linger up to two weeks.
