Less than two weeks after the twins were brought into this world, the mother-of-three committed suicide at home due to an ‘immense’ burden on her mental health.

Between seven and twenty percent of moms, who can be severely disabled, suffer from postpartum depression, according to doctors.

However, many cases go unreported due to the shame associated with it; as a result, the true prevalence is still unknown.

Only a few people have a more severe form of depression which lasts longer, but symptoms normally start during the first 2-3 days after birth and may linger up to two weeks.
