George Reginald Cohen, famed for his George Cohen, was an English professional footballer who played right-back with Fulham.

The footballer, considered one of the few greatest one-trophy wonders, died on December 23, 2022, at 83.

The Fulham right-back was inducted into the English Football Hall of Fame and was the uncle of rugby union World Cup winner Ben Cohen.

In his active career, George was a one-club footballer, joining Fulham professionally in 1956 and remaining there until retirement through injury 13 years later in March 1969.

After suffering from Cancer for over a decade, the legendary English footballer left the world, at 83, on December 23, 2022.

Several online portals claim the cause of the footballer’s death is linked to illness caused the former Fulham legend’s death.

Moreover, the former World Cup winner was diagnosed with bowel Cancer in 1976 and struggled with the illness for 14 years.

The footballer became a campaigner and fundraiser for research into the disease, which claimed the life of his 1966 teammate and captain Bobby Moore, and into dementia, which affected the England team in their later years.

George, in 2017, donated his brain for scientific research upon his death.
