Tributes flood the internet after the American football guard Uche Nwaneri died of a heart attack at 38.
Uche Nwaneri was an established American football guard who played in the National Football League (N.F.L.) for seven seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Jacquard offensive was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 5th round of the N.F.L. draft in 2007 and played seven seasons with the team. Per N.B.C. Sports, he played 104 games with 92 starts with the Jaguars.
Nwaneri, a fifth-round selection in the 2007 N.F.L. Draft from Purdue University, started 92 of 104 games for the Jaguars. He was a key member of the offensive line when Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew won the 2011 N.F.L. rushing title with a franchise record of 1,606 yards.
Uche launched a YouTube channel called “The Observant Lineman” after leaving the N.F.L., where he and other former players would review recent football games. In his most recent episode, the footballer dissected a Philadelphia Eagles play that he had only uploaded two weeks before.
