Platte City, Missouri, witnessed a significant police presence today following a shooting incident at the Wendy’s parking lot located at 1400 Platte Falls Road. The incident, which occurred earlier, has left the community on edge as authorities respond to the unfolding situation.
According to initial reports, the shooting transpired at the Wendy’s parking lot, with witnesses across the street at the Walgreens parking lot attesting to the presence of two individuals involved in the altercation. Disturbingly, witnesses observed two bodies on the west side of the Wendy’s parking lot before the arrival of law enforcement and emergency medical services (EMS).
As of now, no arrests have been made, and the identities of the deceased and the individual in critical condition have not been released. Authorities are urging the public to stay away from the area while investigations into the incident are underway.
Police Chief Joe Wellington provided an update on the situation, confirming that two people were shot in the Wendy’s parking lot. Regrettably, one of the victims has succumbed to their injuries, while the other is in critical condition.
Chief Wellington shared that the suspect is believed to have left the region, and as of the latest information, no arrests have been made. The authorities are working diligently to gather more details about the victims and the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
