The university announced his sudden passing on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, leaving family, friends, and colleagues in deep sorrow.
The cause behind Dr. Tuzuner’s untimely demise remains undisclosed, ushering in a wave of mourning among those touched by his presence.
Dr. Tuzuner’s professional journey was marked by a wealth of experience, spanning national and international law enforcement, security organizations, and academia. His career, dating back to 1990, was distinguished by a focus on law enforcement, counterterrorism, and intelligence within various governmental sectors. Notably, he served as the Police Chief Inspector General in Turkey, contributing extensively to counterintelligence and counterterrorism operations, aiding Interpol, and participating in UN Peacekeeping Operations in Kosovo.
Academically, Dr. Tuzuner held a Ph.D. in Political Science from Kent State University, earning accolades for his exceptional research and expertise in intelligence cooperation. His scholarly interests spanned governmental failures, intelligence theory, anti-money laundering, and counterterrorism financing. He was instrumental in creating influential datasets and received funding from prestigious institutions such as the European Union and NATO for organizing conferences on vital subjects.
