Jason Geier from Fort Recovery dies after battling with cancer: obituary

Fort Recovery, OH – mourns the passing of Jason “Chainsaw” Geier, 38, who bravely battled colon cancer spreading to his liver and bladder. Since receiving the life-altering diagnosis on New Year’s Eve in 2018, Jason underwent a year-long journey of tests and chemotherapy.

After a hopeful period marked by negative scans, Jason paused treatments in January 2020. Tragically, in October, the cancer returned to his liver, leading to a renewed fight against the disease through chemotherapy.

Residing in Fort Recovery with his wife Melissa and four sons, Jason leaves behind a deeply cherished family and a community that rallied around him. The Sawyer Overman Annual Wiffle Ball Benefit Weekend has pledged support, dedicating part of the proceeds from their New Year’s Eve event to assist with the family’s medical expenses during this difficult time.
