“I’ve been struggling with my thoughts and feelings since I heard yesterday about the senseless and tragic passing Danny Ott Jr. I’ve known Danny since his birth and his mom and dad for many years before that. Dan Jr gave me this tiny Redskins mug, oh, I’d have to guess, when he was about 3 years old.“He knew I was a big Redskins fan and one day he came to me, looked up at me with those brilliant blue eyes and handed it to me because, he said, “Bubba, I thought you would like this!” I’ve kept that tiny little mug all these years, through many house moves and many of my own life changes. I have always known exactly where it’s been all these years.“I’m sorry that in his adult life I didn’t know Dan Jr better. We were friendly and knew each other, just not well, certainly not like I knew his mom and dad. I’d run into him often at Shamrock Jack’s Irish Pub and we would talk about Bills football and Pea Pickers drill team. “Danny and Michelle Christine Miller Russell , my heart breaks for you both and for all of his friends and shared Pea Picker family. I’ll always remember that blue eyed kid handing me this little mug.”
Carley Connor of Phoenix, New York, reminisced about their decades-long friendship, recalling moments shared since their kindergarten days. Expressing heartfelt sorrow, Connor emphasized the loss of a dear friend and the cherished memories they created, especially recalling joyful renditions of ‘Sweet Caroline’ at Shamrock Jack’s Irish Pub.
Since the news of Ott’s passing emerged, an outpouring of condolences has flooded in, offering support to Ott’s family and honoring his legacy. The community stands in solidarity, sharing words of comfort and remembrance for a remarkable individual.
As the family copes with this profound and unimaginable loss, thoughts and prayers are extended to them during this difficult time. Details regarding Danny Ott’s obituary and funeral arrangements will be made available by the family.”
