Los Angeles, CA – The sudden passing of James Khatiblou, the esteemed Chief Executive Officer of ONYX Motorbikes in Los Angeles, California, has left family, friends, and the community in disbelief. His demise, confirmed through a poignant Facebook post, has plunged many into mourning, with tributes pouring in from those touched by his work.

The precise cause of James Khatiblou’s passing remains undisclosed at this time. However, sentiments of loss reverberate through a heartfelt Facebook tribute: “Farewell, James. James was the CEO at Onyx, the eBike that won my heart and many awards. I ride it all the time, and thought of him on my way home from work today, on my Onyx.”

James Khatiblou’s academic journey began at Santa Barbara City College, where he pursued a BA in Digital Media Arts and Design from 2007 to 2009. Subsequently, at the University of California, Riverside, from 2009 to 2011, he continued to broaden his educational horizons. Active in campus life, James contributed significantly to the Ski and Snowboard Student Association and held positions as an Officer and Teaching Assistant.

Ben Morse posted on Facebook,

“Fairwell, James.James was the CEO at Onyx, the eBike that won my heart and many awards. I ride it all the time, and thought of him on my way home from work today, on my Onyx.“James was a patented inventor, prototype developer, software engineer, creative technologist with time served in rapid prototyping, skunk-working, building, making, and inventing. He was a full stack developer, mobile, websystems, RTC, streaming, robotics, controllers, machine, learning, so many things I will never really understand at the level he did.“He was 14 years younger than me and a whole lot smarter about things I didn’t understand. And he talked a lot about the EV world. I had worked at Tesla when it was a private, 100ish person company, and later was the CEO of eMotive. The pressures of leading a young EV company can be extreme, and we empathized about that. I wanted to help him and Onyx and I am sad we didn’t get to work together.“I hope his family and his company heal the best they can in the time of shock and loss. James was my friend, a fellow goofy moped enthusiast. I will miss him and know the world is slightly darker tonight without him in it.RIP James Khatiblou.”
