McGregor was present at the match to support his fellow Irish boxer. When asked about Canelo, the UFC official confidently said he would beat Canelo and cited his position as a decisive component.
“I’m a southpaw, (John) Ryder was a southpaw, Billie Joe (Saunders) was a southpaw,” McGregor remarked. “I’ve seen methods and things I’d do, and I know he’s waining,” added McGregor.
However, the super middleweight (Alvarez) beat Saunders in 2021. Alvarez also defeated Ryder in March 2023 to win the world title.
Alvarez was asked about McGregor’s comment. He said he had not seen what the Irish boxer said as he doesn’t have social networks on his phone. “But I will beat him with one hand behind my back,” added the Mexican boxer.
Soon after, McGregor wrote, “Canelo, you little ginger sausage. I’d beat you with no hands, don’t forget.”
Since breaking his leg in a fight against Dustin Poirier in 2021, the MMA ace (McGregor) has not competed.
But Conor is ready for a comeback with a match against Micheal Chandler, which is likely to take place later this year.
